Hi mate,

The "No follow" is set by the owner of the site, so some have it switched on (for want of a better term) and some don't.

A no follow link simply means that search engine spider doesn't "follow" that link when crawling a site. So a NO follow link has no SEO benefit to your website.

However a no follow link is still there and if clicked will still take the visitor to your offer/ website etc. where you earn the commission on the sales if it is made.

If its a no follow link and people are using it to buy the product it's a damn good link..

Hope that helps.

One way to tell if its a no follow is to look at the html. If within the links html it says rel="nofollow" then its a no follow and you keep the link juice.

Affiliate sites should use "no follow" links to avoid penalities from search engines (aka Google Hammer).

Recently, they said even press release links should be "no followed".

So yes, it's useful to use "no follow" links, not only because you aren't sending link juice, but because Google won't see your website as an attempt to manipulate SERPs.

No follow link is less importance than dofollow but it still in the race for some purposes, like it could lead visitors to your site.

Hope i could give a helpful answer.

Good luck

Yes you should have no follow links as they could help you get visitors.

As in other answers google will look on your site favourably.

First off welcome to the forum Shawndee!!! Glad to have you with us.

Now for your question:

Yes using no follow links can be very helpful for increasing your traffic back to your site, but it might not actually have much SEO power behind it. However, having a mixture of both no follow, and do follow links seem to be better in googles eyes and can help to avoid having your site penalized.

Hope my answer helps your question
