Do you actually produce your own material or recycle?

How about for clients (if you have them)- do you provide content for their sites or do they?

I like to write so I try to produce as much content of my own as possible. In the future I will outsource more. It's impossible to write about everything.

When I've automated it in the past the problem was that the content was not unique enough.

It depends on goals for that content. I write content for my blogs, but I outsource some pieces of content too. And I use PLR for inspiration or rewriting content to marketing or not so important updates.

I don't like writing content. I'm slow, get bored quickly, have constant writers block and simply would rather do other things... any other thing.

Getting decent content isn't cheap, but since I'm so unproductive when I try to write, I find that it is generally better for me to purchase content.

The quality and quantity of the content I purchase depends on how it will be used. In my money site, I will pay more for longer, high quality articles. For backlinking, the further from my money site the link is, the lower the quality of the content.

I've tried outsourcing, but I'm to picky, I don't usually like the way the article reads or its not informative enough for my tastes, so I just write my own content

For my own sites it depends on what I'm doing. If it's a money site I usually write it myself or outsource to a good writer, if it's a 2nd or 3rd tier I'll use software or outsource to cheaper writers and edit in either one.

On my client sites I treat them as I would my own sites, depending on whether it's homepage, tiered  etc

I have many writing clients that I provide content to them for their websites. I create my own content for my websites. When I am stuck for idea's I will use PLR, and respin it with the best spinner. I use article wizard for a lot of my research, along with keywordsnatcher.

When I am looking to build backlinks, that is when I will mainly use the PLR. However, when I write for my clients I do the old fashion research, and write their content based upon their KW they provide me to work with. Hope that helps answer your question some.

If I want to promote a product as an affiliate, I write reviews by myself based on the content (if any) the marketer supplied. Some affiliate networks of which I am a member supply tons of materials.

If I need to build links to my sites then I use PLR+supplied materials from the network. Spin them and submit to article directories, forums, blogs etc.

Most of the time I either rewrite or repurpose content.   I've also made products from scratch as well.

I do write my own articles particularly on something I know a lot about.

I also have some good quality PLR articles and I use pieces from them.

The trick is to merge the different styles into your own style.

I find that I can write pretty well however the speed and flow severly lack. When I outsource I am 70% disatisfied with the work.

I write my own material for most things I publish for myself. I may spin that sometimes for different purposes. For clients it depends on what they want. Content can be theirs, mine or purchased.

If it is for your own blog where you want to brand yourself, you should definitely write your own content. If you are talking about niche sites, it is probably better to outsource the articles, unless it is a niche that you are really passionate about and you are keen to share the very best information you have.

I do both. It depends on the amount of time I have. I would outsource it if I plan to sell a website, and have some budget in hand to invest for it.

I create my own content by reading various posts over the internet for reference and to also understand the topic. This way, you can write your own content using your own words.
