Mine was over 2300 uniques in one day after a short blurb in a woman's magazine for a non IM site I had.

Before the panda updates, my best site was receiving around 500 uniques every day consistently, mainly from the search engine.

I was offering something unique that was seasonal. So mentioning it on Twitter and Facebook just before the holiday created some immediate interest.  I also used a pay per click ad at the same time, and mentioned my offer in a few email exchange places.  For a few days before and after the holiday, visits were way up there.

Hint: Put out the word that you have a great solution to everyone's problem.

Most uniques I had in a day was something like 108,000 but it was to affiliate offers from a Facebook App. What I would do to be in that position again just one more time! :'(

For me my best traffic day was 100 visits a day, considering that I didn't do any promotion other than using a free bookmarking tool (Onlywire).
