Hi,

Let us say I have a site with 30 pages. It is Ok to get one back link for each of these sites from another domain www.zyz.com. If it is Ok, will google consider one backlink for each page, so my domain has total of 30 banklinks. If not how google will consider.

Please clarify.

Thanks,

Janna

Frankly speaking, my answer is YES! But you don't end there. Google ranks pages not the whole website or depending on the keyword density of the whole website.

Hi Jannahema,

Welcome to the forum.

Reading your question raises a concern because it seems that you think 30 links will be the end of the story and you won't need to do anything more. That's not the case. It is best to have a consistent link building strategy which gradually increases over time if neccessary to achieve the rankings you're looking for.

I don't think there's an exact formula on this but I like to send around 50 - 70% of my links to the home page and the rest to inner pages. If you do good siloing then the link juice will flow through anyway.

The main thing to remember is authority and relevance when it comes to link building. Try to get links from high authority sites that are relevant to your niche with a broad range of anchor text.

Finally remember that Google is placing a growing emphasis on social signals(especially their own Google+), so remember to get plenty of those as you go. Synnd (see signature file below) is the best for this.

Hope this helps and you enjoy success and the forum

Ray

I would not advise to get all your links from the same source. According to my understanding of link diversity, I think it includes getting links from unique IPs as well as varying your anchor texts.

Use social signals. Social bookmarking sites and social media sites. You have free blogs to post to and then link to your site but don't over do it 'cos you may be banned. I had bad experience with wordpress.com

It will be better if you can get links from 30 different domains instead of just one domain.

Also, make sure the site you are getting links from is a quality site.

Like what Ray has mentioned, it is not just about getting 30 links and consider it a job done. You also want to consider stregthening your backlink so that the link is more powerful.

For example, let say you are trying to get a link from youtube, don't just make a video, put a link in the description and consider it done. That is not enough.

You will want to spend some time commenting on other videos so that your username (link to your youtube channel) will appear on multiple pages of youtube. That makes your channel more authoritative and will also strengthen your individual videos, making the backlink more powerful.

All,

Thanks all for your answers.

I was not saying that I will create only 30 links etc for my site nor I was asking about the other link types .

My question was very specific.. First I was just giving an example to understand the implication of having a link from other site(specifically from a single url), to multiple pages my site which are in a single domain. Can someone clarify this for me?

To make it more clear, Let us say I am using Joe Fin packets and using each of the site in the list and creating links to all of my pages in single domain..

Now assuming this pack comes with 20 sites, If I am not allowed to use same source for all links.. If my domain has 50 pages. I can either
a) Create 20 links to my single page OR
b) Create 1 link to 20 of my pages..

Is this correct?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,
Janna
Yes, that is correct.

At least from the SEO perspective, it is waste of time trying to get multiple links from the same domain, unless that "link" will bring you traffic as well.

For example, if I know a blog is extremely popular, and I know I will get lots of traffic if I comment there, then I won't mind spending the time to comment on multiple blog posts.

From the SEO perspective, getting extra links at that blog might not boost my ranking but I know it will bring me traffic.

In your case, you are using those link packets. They are just for backlink purposes only and are probably not going to bring you loads of traffic. Therefore, no point trying to link multiple times to your website since you won't see any significant SEO benefits.
Many Thanks, That clarifies my question..

If you want your site to rank well in the search engines you need links pointing back to your site, But you don't want just any old links. The best kinds of back links are links that are relevant to your niche . Link building needs to be an ongoing part of your search engine optimization strategy, the more back links you have the better. But don't rush and suddenly get thousands of links pointing to your site, you need to grow your back links naturally.

There are many ways to get back links:

Develop relationships with other webmasters to get reciprocal links from related sites.

Involve yourself in forums related to your niche and include a link to your site as part of your signature file.

Create Squidoo lenses or HubPages with a link back to your site
If you have a blog, add your blog feed to your Squidoo lens or HubPage.

Write articles for article directories and include a link back to your site in the bio box or author's resource box.

Use Social Bookmarking services to bookmark your pages and encourage your visitors to do the same.

Use Twitter to send a 'tweet' when you post a new article.

Create profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn and include links to your site

Someone narrated me the success story of a blogger who just focuses on writing many posts a day. And she is earning a significant income from blogging alone. Link building is important if it delivers quality, rather than quantity. That's what I assume.
