What type of blog script are you using?

If you are using Wordpress, there are a lot of options that are availiable.

Some are better than others but it also comes down if you want a free plugin or a paid plugin.

There are lots of free Wordpress plugins but you can also upgrade to a Pro version with some. As with most freebies, there is another motive in the background and that is the upgrade aspect to the pro version.

One thing I must strive to you, if you have a new blog, no matter what type of SEO plugin you use you have to be patient as search engines will not put you on top just because you have good seo for the blog.

You also have to get quality high pr backlinks, social backlinks, quality contet, content added on a regular basis,  and more.

One thing to rember, always seo for visitors and not search engines, they do not buy aything. Second seo for search engines.

If interested in a great quality seo plugin for your posts or pages, please PM me and I will help you out.

Ranking and SEO are not necessarily the same. Ranking might refer to your Alexa rank or perhaps your Google page rank. If you want to get your website on the first page of search results

1.  Be sure every new post is pinged right away and that the site has a site map.

2. Do keyword research first so you know the best keywords to use for each blog post. Use the keyword in the blog title and in the text a couple of times. More than this is not necessary any more.

3. Use a service like "Rankings Done Right" that will build backlinks of all sorts, over time. I also recommend Social Monkee. Even their free version will help.

4. Find some blog groups to join on Facebook. The idea is that members post links to their blog posts for that week and everyone exchanges visits and comments. Getting engagement from visitors is much more important now than even keywords.

5. Use a plugin called CommentLuv. Visitors are much more likely to leave a comment because they receive benefit when they do.

6. Reply to every commenter right away so Google sees engagement.

7. Consider software like Magic Submitter, or SE Nuke or others Check in with the Warrior Forum to see what software people are talking about or what Warrior Special Offer (WSO) might be available.

8. Remember that whoever said, if you build it they will come, was not talking about websites.

The very first thing you need to do is On-Page Optimization inside your site. Determine the density of the keyword terms you want to promote (assuming that you already did your keyword research). After that, unique content matters if you want to rank. Then finally start building backlinks the natural way.
